HAPPY COUPLE: Fulufhelo Thidiela and his wife, Nokunene Thidiela.
Black Leaopords boss David Thidiela was there to see his son Fulufhelo, the club’s CEO, tie the knot with his long-time sweetheart, Nokunene, at a glittering wedding ceremony in Thohoyandou.
Even the persistent rain did not dampen the spirits of well wishers who attended the ceremony.
The event was attended by among others, Limpopo MEC for Health and Social Development Dikeledi Magadzi, actress Mukondeleli Moloi, who plays Makhadzi in the popular SABC2 soapie Muvhango, club executive member Musanda Mapholi, football manager Sam Khaphathe, former Leopards’ skipper Duncan “King” Lechesa and his wife Kgadi, and local priests and bishops.
The couple met at the University of the Witwatersrand back in 1999, where Thidiela studied for a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
His wife is a chartered accountant. The couple have three children, including one set of twins.
“This is the big day that I was waiting for and I’m happy and proud that I have finally married the love of my life,” Thidiela said.
Said the equally ecstatic bride: “I’m finally a Thidiela and I knew this day would come and I’m over the moon that it finally came.”
Thidiela senior said: “Today I can afford to smile, seeing my son finally getting married. I’ve not been smiling a lot lately considering that my club has not been doing well.”
He joked: “Now that the CEO is married, Black Leopards will be unstoppable in the second round of the league next year.”
The couple received their nuptials at the United African Apostolic Church in Vhufuli.
